Welcome to the FIDE Freestyle Chess Championship at Weissenhaus

 

For the first time, and in collaboration with FIDE the world's stars will meet directly on the Baltic Sea at the Weissenhaus Private Nature Luxury Resort. Jan Henric Buettner, initiator and passionate fan of ther Freestyle Chess Community, is looking forward to exciting and passionate encounters with the world's best chess players from 13 to 15 February 2026 at the FIDE Freestyle Chess World Championship, which has a prize fund of $300,000.

 

Visit our Bootshaus restaurant from Friday, 13th February 2026 to Sunday, 15th February 2026, always from 12 noon onwards. We will be broadcasting the Chess World Championship live. Experience exciting matches in one of Schleswig-Holstein's most beautiful beach locations and enjoy a selection of tasty bistro bestsellers, such as truffle fries, pasta, Caesar salad or Kaiserschmarrn.
