Luddite Wines – A journey into the world of handcrafted wines with character and personality

We look forward to embarking on a captivating wine journey with you on Tuesday, 26th May 2026, a journey rooted in heart, passion and craftsmanship.

On our side terrace at the Bootshaus restaurant, overlooking the azure-blue Baltic Sea and in a summery, informal atmosphere, we will present an extensive tasting of Luddite wines, crafted in Bot River, South Africa, accompanied by a four-course menu. Your warm hosts and expert guides for the evening will be Mr Niels Verburg and his daughter Alice Verburg, visiting directly from South Africa.

The renowned Luddite Wines estate, which has made a name for itself by creating exceptional Shiraz wines of the highest calibre, stands for honest, characterful wines and relies on traditional methods and genuine craftsmanship in harmony with the natural environment of the South African landscape. The Verburg family does not follow trends but defies them, producing distinctive wines that tell beautiful stories – of winemakers who regard wine as a work of art, of sincerity, courage and authenticity. And you can experience all of this on this evening, accompanied by a gentle sea breeze and candlelight on the Baltic Sea.
