Luddite Wines – A journey into the world of handcrafted wines with character and personality
Enjoy a wonderful break in the category of your choice, complete with all the amenities our Private Nature Luxury Resort has to offer. We look forward to joining you on Tuesday, 26th May 2026 for an evocative wine journey centred on heart, passion and craftsmanship.
On our side terrace at the Bootshaus restaurant, overlooking the azure-blue Baltic Sea and in a summery, informal atmosphere, we will present you with an extensive and flavourful tasting of Luddite wines, shaped by the intense heat of the Bot River Valley, accompanied by a perfectly matched four-course menu. Your warm hosts and expert guides for the evening are Mr Niels Verburg and his daughter Alice Verburg, who will be joining us in person from South Africa.

‘Rebellion against mainstream taste’
The renowned Luddite Wines estate, which has made a name for itself by creating exceptional Shiraz wines of the highest calibre, is synonymous with honest, characterful wines and relies on traditional methods and genuine craftsmanship in harmony with the natural environment of the South African landscape. The Verburg family does not follow trends but defies them, producing distinctive wines that tell beautiful stories – of winemakers who regard wine as a work of art, of sincerity, courage and authenticity. And you can experience all of this this evening, with a gentle Baltic breeze and the South African sun in your glass.
We look forward to an unforgettable summer evening with you and the wines of the Verburg family. Relax and enjoy a few fine glasses of wine accompanied by amusing anecdotes and entertaining stories, taste older and strictly limited vintages, and savour a delicious four-course menu whilst the waves roll persistently and gently onto the beach.
